Here is an opportunity that doesn't come along very often! A BMW Z3 1.9 Roadster, with only two owners in total - both from the same family - and it has only covered 14,500 miles from new. It comes with a large collection of paperwork, in fact, every piece of paperwork that was ever raised for the car from new. Included in the paperwork is the explanation from BMW on how these cars were delayed for the launch and customers waited up to a year to get theirs. When the cars finally came, they were changing hands for figures up to £6,000 or £7,000 over list price. This was for a number of reasons, one being the car was launched in conjunction with the James Bond film and the fact that this was a leap from BMW in what they usually built. And how good was it? It was brilliant, and it changed the world of prestige motor manufacturers and what cars they built to compete with the Z3 - we can think of the SLK or TT to name a couple. Within the paperwork we have both the order form and invoice showing us that the BMW cost the grand sum of £24,520 - a lot of money back in 1997. It also tells us the specification which includes; Arctic silver with black leather, ASC+Traction control, front passenger airbag, Z-star alloy wheels, heated mirrors, grad tinted screen, black hood, electric hood, no smoker package, headlight wash system, on-board computer and a factory hard top. It would be hard to better that in 1997. It also tells us that the private plate 'P60 JDB', was put on from new and is included in the sale. We also have older V5s and a whole load of paperwork from BMW, both BMW (GB) and the dealer Bates of Maldon, keeping the customer up to date with the delivery and the delays they suffered. It goes on still with old MOTs, tax discs and invoices detailing all the works carried out from new. We also have all the original manuals and instruction books, as well as a service book containing 4 stamps, invoices from specialists carrying on the service history and its spare keys. This has to be one of the best examples of a Z3 on the market. Great history, huge amount of paperwork, single family ownership, in amazing condition and all very original in every way. This is definitely a car for the serious collector, or someone who wants an 'as new' BMW Z3 or as close as you will ever get. Don't miss it!
